 Message from President John LaRocca

      It is my honor to welcome you to the seventy seventh conference of the Illinois Association of Water Pollution Control Operators. The Program Committee, under the direction of our own Shirley Burger from Bloomingdale, has planned and assembled an excellent program containing presentation that will be informative, interesting and beneficial to all in attendance.

    This will be an excellent opportunity to learn from fellow professionals in our industry. This year we’ve eliminated the last sessions on Wednesday in favor of exhibitor demonstrations in the exhibit hall. We look forward to this refreshing new twist in the program which will no doubt be enjoyed by all.  Our Pre-Conference Workshop will be provided by Metropolitan Industries. This will be an opportunity to learn from industry professionals who collectively have over one hundred years of experience.

    A visit to the exhibit hall will once again provide an opportunity to view new technology, gather information and network with fellow wastewater professionals. This will certainly be a worthwhile experience. Additionally, the band will be back to provide entertainment that received rave reviews last year. Don’t forget to purchase those raffle tickets which will provide educational support.

   On behalf of our Executive Board, we look forward to seeing you all at this year’s conference. Make it a priority to attend what will be a conference to remember.

ATTENTION POSITION OPENING WITHIN THE ASSOCIATION

 Position: Secretary & Treasurer 

 The Association will be needing to fill the position of Secretary/Treasurer as of June 1, 2012.  The part-time position is a contractual position with the Association.  The position's job description is available HERE.  The Executive Board will determine salary.  The current Secretary is retiring from the position June 1, 2012.
